Urbanna Historic Architectural Review Board

The Historic Architectural Review Board works to preserve and protect the town’s historic places and areas. They issue or deny Certificates of Appropriateness for construction, reconstruction, substantial exterior alteration, razing or relocation within the Historic District. The board also assists and advises the Town Council, Planning Commission, other town departments and property owners on matters involving historically significant sites and buildings, land usage, parking facilities and signage in the Historic District. The board proposes additions or deletions to the Historic District and adopts standards for historic architectural review. Download the Application for Certificate of Appropriateness here.

The Town Council appoints the members of the Historic Architectural Review Board to five-year terms. At least three of the five members of the HARB must be town residents.
